Masullas

The stone village at the foot of Monte Arci, among obsidian deposits, the Geomuseum and historic churches. This is where the Nonna Rosa and Nonno Cicito apartments are.

Welcome

The Sardinia that takes its time

Masullas is a small village in the Alta Marmilla, in the province of Oristano, resting at the foot of Monte Arci. Stone houses, courtyards, ancient churches and countryside that changes colour with every season: the right place for anyone looking for the island's slow rhythm, far from the crowded routes.

Our two homes, Nonna Rosa and Nonno Cicito, are right here in the village centre: from here you can walk to the churches, the museum and the viewpoints, and drive in half an hour to the Giara, Barumini and the beaches of the Oristano coast.

Obsidian

The black stone of Monte Arci

Monte Arci is one of the few places in the Mediterranean where obsidian outcrops: the volcanic glass that in prehistoric times was worked here and traded across the whole basin. The Conca 'e Cannas deposits are about twenty minutes from Masullas.

At the Geomuseum, in the village centre, the story of this stone is told alongside the geological history of the whole massif. Around twenty minutes away you can also reach the Giara plateau with its wild horses and the Su Nuraxi nuraghe in Barumini, a UNESCO site.
